Overview

SaveMeTokens is built on a simple privacy principle: your prompts and text never leave your machine. The compression engine runs entirely locally. We have zero access to what you type, what you compress, or what you send to any AI service. The only data we handle is what's necessary to process your payment and manage your license.

This Privacy Policy describes how SaveMeTokens ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in connection with our desktop application and website (savemetokens.com). By using our app or website, you agree to the practices described here.

What We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run our service:

  • Email address — provided when you purchase a license, used to deliver your license key and send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, support replies).
  • License key — a unique key bound to your machine on first activation. We store this to validate your subscription and handle transfers or support requests.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor (Dodo Payments). We never see or store your card details.
  • Anonymous usage metrics — if enabled, aggregate counts such as "number of compressions today" used to generate the tray icon stats. These are stored locally on your machine only and are never transmitted to us.

What We Don't Collect

We want to be explicit about what we have zero access to:

  • The content of any prompt you type or compress
  • The output of any compression
  • Anything you send to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any other AI service
  • Your code, documents, or any file content
  • Keystrokes or clipboard contents outside of the compression action
  • Which applications you use SaveMeTokens with
  • Your browsing history or AI conversation history

This is not a policy choice — it is a technical reality. The compression engine has no network component. It reads the selected text, processes it locally, and pastes it back. There is no server involved in that flow.

Local Processing Explained

When you press Ctrl + Space, SaveMeTokens:

  • Reads the selected text from your active text field using system clipboard APIs
  • Runs the compression algorithm entirely in-process on your machine
  • Pastes the compressed result back into the same text field
  • Clears any temporary data from memory

At no point in this process is any data sent to our servers or any third-party server. The app does not require an internet connection to compress prompts — only to validate your license key on first activation.

✦ Purchases & subscriptions

License & Billing Data

When you purchase SaveMeTokens, your payment is processed by Dodo Payments. We receive a confirmation of your purchase and your email address — we never receive or store your card number, CVV, or banking details.

Your email is used solely for:

  • Delivering your license key
  • Sending purchase receipts and renewal notices
  • Responding to support requests you initiate

We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent. You can contact us at any time to have your email removed from our records, subject to any legal retention requirements for financial records.

Cookies

The SaveMeTokens website (savemetokens.com) uses minimal cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the checkout and account session to function. These are not optional.
  • Analytics — if used, we employ privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics that do not track individuals across sites and do not share data with advertising networks.

The desktop application itself sets no cookies and makes no web requests during normal operation.

✦ Who else sees your data

Third Parties

We share data with the following third parties only as necessary:

  • Dodo Payments — payment processing. Governed by Dodo Payment's Privacy Policy.
  • Email provider — transactional email delivery (license keys, receipts). Your email address is shared with our email provider solely for sending these messages.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with AI companies or model providers.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your data, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain financial records
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing where we rely on legitimate interest

✦ Age restrictions

Children

SaveMeTokens is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of SaveMeTokens after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We will never make changes that retroactively compromise the core privacy guarantee: your prompts and text are never transmitted to us.
